In Hanoi, the signing ceremony of the contract for the main works of Lai Chau Hydropower Plant is held on May, 13th 2013 between Son La Hydropower Project Management Board, the representative of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and Representatives of the General Contractor – Song Da Corporation and its members signed the contract for the Package 01 – XL with the total value of VND 11.170 Billion.

Lai Chau Hydropower Plant is ranked the third largest Hydropower besides Son La Hydropower Plant and Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant. It is estimated to produce KWh 4.67 Billion to the national grid. The Works, located in Muong Te District, Lai Chau Province, was commenced on January, 5th 2011 amdblocking river on April, 24h 2012.
In the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha - Director of Son La Hydropower Plant Management Board announce that the Employer shall facilitate for all Contractors to complete their missions. Delivering a speech in the signing ceremony, Mr. Le Van Chau - General Director of Song Da Corporation committed that total Contractor Group shall strive to complete the Works complying with the construction schedule, budget and ensuring the quality.
Following its success of the largest hydropower project in Vietnam - Son La HPP, Song Da 5 – Contractor in charge of many important work items of Lai Chau HPP such as production and transportation of 2.1 RCC million cubic meters, installation of rebar, place concrete for Diversion Culvert, Intake, Spillway, Powerhouse… with total estimated revenue of VND 3,500 Billion. Currently, Song Da 5 has mobilized many specialized construction equipment and put the RCC production system into operation with the presence of thousands of qualified Engineers and skillful manpower working in three continual shifts.
The contract signing of Package 01XL of Lai Chau Hydropower Project is considered as important historic benchmarks to motivate all Contractors to speed up the construction progress.
