On 28th December 2018, at Lao Plaza Hotel, Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR, the Signing ceremony for Nam Emoun HPP Civil Work Contract was held by the Employer, Chaleun Sekong Energy Co., Ltd (“CSE”) and General Contractor, Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company (“Song Da 5).
At the ceremony, it has the attendance of Mr. Khammany Inthirath, Minister of Energy and Mines, Lao PDR, Mr. Sonsay Sithphaxay - Governer Bank of Lao PDR; For Embassy of Vietnam in Lao PDR, the attendance of Ambassador Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung; In addition, the attendance of Representatives from local authorities Mr. Khampery Bouddavieng, Chief of Governor of Sekong Province, Mr. Kongkeo Xaysongkkham, Chief of Governor of Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR and other guests; The Representative of the Employer, Chaleun Sekong Energy Co., Ltd, Mr. Chanthanome Phommany – Chairman and Mr., Litsamy Latsavong – General Director. For Song Da Corporation, the attendance of Mr. Ho Van Dung – Chairman, the reprentatives of General contractor, Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company, the attendances of Mr. Tran Anh Duc – Chairman, Mr. Tran Huu Hung – General Director and other senior officers of the Employer and General Contractor.
Nam Emoun hydropower project is located in Nam E-moun and Hoyay Het rivers, in Sekong province, Lao PDR. The installed capacity of project is 129 MW with the average annual energy generation of 427,4 GWh. The project consists of main structures: Diversion Dam, Main Dam, and Waterway with the tunnel length of around 20 km, Powerhouse, Switchyard, etc. The total value of contract is over USD 124 million with the construction schedule of 3 years (2019-2021). Nam Emoun is evaluated as one of projects of the social and economic importance with the aim of developing one clean, renewable project that is friendly with the environment and contributes to the poverty reduction for local people.
The general layout plan of project
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Duc- Chairman of Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company, the representatives of General contractor expressed the sincere gratitude to the Government, Ministry of Energy and Mine and the authorities of Laos PDR, the leaders of employer and Song Da Corporation for their sponsorship and support to Song Da 5 in the duration of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on the investment cooperation and construction of Hydropower projects in Laos and the power transmission and purchasing to Vietnam between CSE and Song Da 5 signed on 5th February 2018 and he also expressed his honor and pride of being trusted and awarded the civil work contract of Nam Emoun HPP by the employer. Thereby, Song Da 5 is aware that the successful construction and ensuring the benefits of Employers are the contractor’s duties, the base to maintain and develop the good relationship between two companies; besides, it contributes to the preservation of the special, traditional friendship of Laos – Vietnam. Therefore, Song Da 5 commits to mobilize all resources to ensure the implementation of all commitments and complete the project on schedule, generate and connect to the power line transferring to every place of two territories, consolidate the symbol of unity, the solidarity tradition of two countries Laos – Vietnam.
The signing ceremony of Nam E-Moun HPP is a typical important project which remarks a good development between two enterprises, contributes to the true relationship between governments and people of two countries Laos – Vietnam. Following the success of Nam Ngiep 1 Hydro Power project in Bolikhamxay – Lao PDR, with the outstanding construction experience and capability, Song Da 5 shall be confident and determine to implement the project successfully in accordance with the requirements of the project.
On the other hand, the signing ceremony for Nam Emoun civil work contract becomes an evidence for restless efforts of Leaders and employees of Song Da 5 on the way of further development and also affirms the brand name Song Da 5 on the international market.
