Attending the seminar were representatives from Song Da 5, Liebheer Germany, Mott Macdonald consulting, Colinco Consulting and the suppliers of hydropower equipment in the world.
At the seminar, Dr. Malcolan DunStan,MDQA, VK (Britain) –The president of the association highly appreciated the high construction rate of RCC placement in Son La HPP in Vietnam. The Dam at Son La HPP is one of the great dams in the world executed with RCC concrete technology. This project is evaluated difficult because of extremely harsh weather, the complex geology of Son La province so that the conveyor belt system were installed as wavy line of over 2 km long. However, thanks to the effort, attempt and creativeness, difficulty overcoming of the employees, Song Da 5 completed this work excellently, on schedule, ensuring technique, aesthetics and the quality of the work. Especially, this is the hydropower project built by RCC concrete of very high construction rate.

The work’s success contributed not only to the power generation of son La HPP ahead the schedule for 2 years, bringing USD billions of benefit for Vietnamese government, but it also marked an important step, an experience for the high dam association in the world in applying RCC concrete at the tropical countries.
Thanks to the success of Son La HPP, the government entrusted Song Da 5 JSC with the construction of Lai Chau HPP. Based in the current capability and experience in Son La HPP, the president of high dam association confirmed that Song Da 5 would complete Lai CHau HPP on schedule excellently.
At the seminar, Mr Tran Van Huyen – General Director of Song Da 5 JSC expressed the gratitude for the consideration of the association especially the cooperation of Liebherr, Nippon, Colinco consulting, Mott Macdonald consulting. Mr. Tran Van Huyen also looked forward to the cooperation for the upcoming projects in the future and the RCC concrete construction of Lai Chau HPP would be the first priority.
