Around 9AM, we clearly saw the hustle, bustle atmosphere of emulation of all engineers and workers on the site that made us forget that that day was the first day of the year. Working atmosphere and images of the workers made me really admire. Optimism and love of life were always shone on their face. They were the ones who sacrificed their own interests, all for the power of the country tomorrow.
Meeting employees at the site, Mr. Thai Phung Ne praised the huge contribution that everyone had made their effort to gain during recent year, especially the completion of diversion culvert, pit excavation at 1st phase on right abutment; extended pit excavation on left abutment. The dike work at 1st stage (dry season) to 206m elevation for flood prevention in dry season and dike work at 1st stage - phase 2 to the elevation 208.5m were completed as well. Currently, manpower, equipment for concrete construction of diversion culvert have been fully mobilized at the site to meet the magnitude of 32.000m3/month, ensure the target of river closure in March 2012.
On the occasion of New Year, Mr. Thai Phung Ne visited all employees on the site. Simultaneously, he desired everyone to further promote the existing experience, solidarity, close coordination in coming time to overcome difficulties, speed up the construction progress, complete the objective of river closure.
Mr. Le Van Chau thanked his direction and sent New Year wishes to Mr. Thai Phung Ne’s family, reaffirmed his determination to implement the target of river closure at the end of March 2012, generation of power unit No. 1 in the first quarter of 2016 and completion of the project in 2017.

Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company’s staff determines to complete the assigned items, contributing to ensure the project progress.

Saying goodbye to workers on the construction site, I really admired and believed that Lai Chau hydropower project would have power generation due to assigned schedule. Because they - the hydropower constructors - are always on time ....
